Our History

Moose Lodge #692

Loyal Order of the Moose, Greeneville Lodge #692, was instituted on October 15, 1940 with 52 Charter Members. John W. Kilgo, a prominent Greeneville attorney, served as it's first Governor.

Our first Moose Home was located on West Depot St. near the Irish St. intersection and served as our official home until 1951 at which time the Tusculum Blvd. property (now Boswell's Paint and Carpet) was purchased. The Lodge operated at the location until 1969 at which time the present Lodge facility on Kiser Blvd. was constructed on a seven acre site. Consisting of 486 members, the Lodge was officially opened in September 1969.

Greeneville Chapter 1598, Women of the Moose, was instituted on July 27, 1969, with 50 Charter Members. The Women of the Moose, established in 1913, is a unit of Moose International. Our members work in harmony with the members of the Loyal Order of Moose to provide a helping hand to those in need.
